With the exception of Kendrick Lamar’s electrifying performance, the 2016 Grammys were a bit snoozy. Luckily, some of the attendees decided to take the opportunity to try out some statement hair (even if it wasn’t necessarily the statement they wanted to make).
Taylor Swift’s usually wavy bob was a sleek winner’s helmet.
Janelle Monáe sported a pair of enviably thick pigtail braids.
Zendaya went with a blonde mullet, a nod to David Bowie, per her Instagram.
Lady Gaga was also channeling Bowie (and maybe Lion-O) with her orange mane.
Johnny Depp was a convincing Hollywood vampire — or just convincingly Johnny Depp.
