Rihanna at the Met Gala

The Tribeca Film Festival just picked up a stylish headliner: The First Monday in May, a documentary that follows the Met Gala and the workings of last year’s Metropolitan Museum of Art’s exhibit China: Through the Looking Glass. The film is directed by Andrew Rossi, of Page One.
Expect appearances in the movie from Rihanna and her pizza dress, filmmaker Wong Kar-wai, and Anna Wintour, who has served as the Met Gala’s chairperson for 20 years. As for Katie Couric’s gloriously ambitious coverage of the event, one can only dream that it made the cut as well.
