First Raf Simons leaves Dior, then came Alber Elbaz’s departure at Lanvin, and now the latest brand to lose its creative director is Salvatore Ferragamo. While the name Massimiliano Giornetti isn’t as familiar as the other two, he’s been at the helm of the label since 2011. WWD reports that Ferragamo quietly announced his departure today after the markets had closed in Milan, where the company is publicly traded. No replacement is expected as the label is joining the trend of going with the in-house team. After two strong seasons filled with highly desirable pieces, it’ll be interesting to see how Ferragamo keeps up the momentum.
