Now You Can Buy Jewelry Like a French Girl

So far, there are 63 things you can do like a French girl, and shopping for jewelry is not on the list — at least until now. For the woman who prefers her clothes by Isabel Marant and her hair casually undone, Aurélie Bidermann’s pieces are right in line with that calculated “nonchalant” approach to style. The Parisian jewelry designer is slowly expanding in the United States, most recently opening up a new Madison Avenue boutique. To celebrate her latest shop, Bidermann created an exclusive fine jewelry capsule with cute little apple-, rabbit-, and kitten-themed pieces. The Cut asked her to pick out her five favorites from the store, in case you need some summer accessory inspiration.

“The apple pendant is something I explored through my collections. It started with a core that was bitten away and eventually expanded to either a whole fruit or [apples] with one bite in them. I wear at least one apple a day … I hear it keeps the doctor away.”
Bitten apple charm in ruby and diamond, $5,570, exclusively available at 957 Madison Ave., 212-628-2125

“The Maya is another one of my classics and it’s perfect to take on vacation.”

“These are my favorite earrings! When I was designing this season I saw an incredible collection of Alexander Calder mobiles and I wanted to create something that had that same sense of movement and fluidity. I like to wear the big version of the Vera earrings on a night out and the smaller ones are great for daytime.”

“I introduced the Takayama necklace version on a leather string a few seasons ago and wanted to expand the collection into earrings. I often wear two different colors on my ears, or sometimes I even like wearing different colors on the same ear.”
Takayama earrings, $165, Aurélie Bidermann

“When I created this necklace, I was inspired by the shapes and strong women of the ‘70s. It feels organic and lays low on the body. I love wearing it with denim.”
