Even Jane Fonda Stumbles in the Presence of a Fellow Hot Person

Jane Fonda always seems to keep her cool. She’s a Hollywood mainstay, a professed feminist who evangelizes the natural process of aging, and a workout queen — she’s Jane Fonda. At a Thursday Tribeca Film Festival panel featuring Fonda and Lily Tomlin’s Netflix sitcom Grace and Frankie, the patron saint of steel abs told a story that made her seem especially human. Yes, even Jane freaking Fonda can lose her chill (and her equilibrium) in front of a chiseled dude:

“I was hiking the other day. I’d been hiking for two hours, and I was tired. I was coming to the end of the trail and this really good-looking guy with no shirt on was walking towards me, and I kind of looked up and tripped on a root. And I fell on my fake hip! And I thought it had come unhinged. But because of all those years of working out, it took me three days in a wheelchair and two days on a walker and a day on a cane, and now I’m fine.”

There you have it. In the face of a hot, shirtless man, even Jane Fonda loses her balance. But if you make like Jane and pop in those fitness tapes now, you’ll be glad for it later when you (literally) fall head over heels for someone.
