Alice Wetturland may not be one of the designated wild dates in Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates (that would be Anna Kendrick and Aubrey Plaza), but the comedian and Silicon Valley actress, who plays cousin Terry in the film, definitely had a real-life wild date, at her own wedding.

“My wildest wedding date? My ex-husband, who I married at my wedding,” she told the Cut at last night’s Mike and Dave premiere in Los Angeles. “We got super drunk and we stole a golf cart and we drove out to the desert — we were in Palm Springs — and he was so high that he wanted to go back. We were in the middle of the desert, and it was beautiful. I was like, ‘Why do you want to go back?’ And he’s like, ‘What if there’s, like, guys out here?’ And I was like, ‘It’s four in the morning.’ And he’s like, ‘But think about it, if there are guys out here, they’re not cool.’ And I was like, ‘That’s true.’”

As with any night involving a pilfered golf cart, plenty of alcohol was imbibed. “God, I had like four of everything? A lot of Champagne,” she said. Which is why the end of the night is a little fuzzy: “That is the last thing we remember, is being out in the desert. I don’t know how we got back.”

The actress has “no regrets,” except maybe the day’s price tag: “It’s like a $40,000 hit-it-and-quit-it type of situation, where it’s like, All right, we didn’t maybe need to …” She got good pictures (“that no one ever looks at now”) and an even better story. “Best night ever,” she said. “The marriage didn’t last, but we’re still friends.”
