Kim Kardashian Says She’s Not a Feminist, She Just Believes in Feminism

Kim Kardashian, who is pretty much the embodiment of 2016 feminism, just can’t bring herself to be labeled a feminist. In a blog post on her website on Monday, she wrote that, although she’s “all about empowering and uplifting women” and although she “work[s] hard, make[s] her own money, and [is] comfortable and confident in [her] own skin, and encourage[s] women to be honest and open about their sexuality,” she really wouldn’t call herself a feminist because, and we quote, “Why do we have to put labels on things?”

She goes on:

I feel that being grouped or labeled can create separation between people who do (or don’t) fall into certain categories, when they may actually share many of the same beliefs and goals. It’s not about he, she, gay, straight, black, white. The fight for equality is about ALL human beings being treated equally — regardless of gender, sexuality or ethnicity.

In July 2015, Kardashian told Rolling Stone, “Yeah, I think you could call me a feminist.” Got that? You can call her a feminist, but she won’t call herself one. Phew, glad that’s settled.
