Vice-President Joe Biden has long been a vocal supporter of the White House’s “It’s on Us” campaign, which was launched in 2014 to combat sexual violence: Notably, he introduced Lady Gaga and rape survivors at the 2016 Oscars and wrote an open letter to the Stanford rape victim back in June. And on Thursday night, he reached another vast audience when he used his time on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to speak up about rape culture and sexual assault.

“Any man who takes a drunk woman up the stairs in a fraternity house is a damn coward, man. There’s nothing manly about this. They should get knocked on their ass,” Biden passionately exclaimed. “I’m convinced the vast majority of men understand, and it’s about time we speak up and we intervene when we see it.”
