Angelina Jolie continues to win the press war against Brad Pitt, as the latest TMZ tidbit manages to make Pitt look pretty bad while also showing off her Mama Bear claws.
Our Angelina sources say she’s adamant … Brad should not face criminal charges for getting physical with 15-year-old Maddox on their private jet. We’re told she’ll go “radio silent” if authorities make a move to build a case against her estranged husband.
We’re told Angelina was forthright with the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services, telling social workers Brad struck Maddox (in the face).
TMZ’s sources from Pitt’s camp refute this detail. People reported Thursday that the two are in private negotiations, so it makes perfect sense that that this detail would pop up on TMZ. It’s just negative enough to convince Pitt’s team it’s best to settle on her terms, but it also reinforces the idea that she’s not really out to “destroy” Pitt — just protect her children.
In any case, Jolie’s already lining up another project for the near future; she’s in early talks to star in big-screen adaptation of Shoot Like a Girl, a memoir by Air Force major Mary Jennings Hegar. The medevac pilot survived three tours of duty in Afghanistan, including a harrowing attack by the Taliban during one mission, and she later was part of an ACLU lawsuit against the government to overturn the Combat Exclusion Policy. Whew.
