First things first, lads and gals, The Graham Norton Show (and its famous red chair) is back in business! Season 20 came out with a bang by discussing the most devastating cultural topic of the fall thus far — no, not Trump, but the controversy surrounding BBC’s The Great British Bake Off, which found hosting duo Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins, as well as judge Mary Berry, leaving the show upon the announcement it would be moving to Channel 4. It’s more depressing than a deflated vanilla soufflé, and Anna Kendrick knows it. But unlike some of us, she’s willing to see the peachy side of it all: “It immediately turned Mel and Sue into folk heroes, and we’re also proud of Mary for following suit, and then it’s like, of course Paul stayed, with your bread and your goatee.” Damn that goatee.
