Hedi Slimane Went on a Tweet Storm About YSL Last Night

Kanye West isn’t the only person prone to middle-of-the-night, all-caps tweet storms, it seems. Hedi Slimane, who’s been lying pretty low after collecting $13 million from his former employer in June, decided to come alive last night with a series of tweets about Saint Laurent and the YSL logo. Maybe he was spurred to point out his own history with the logo because of Anthony Vaccarello’s new logo-heavy collection for the brand, as shown in Paris last week, which featured a giant YSL sign and logo-heeled stilettos. He’s at pains to point out that he immortalized the YSL logo, too, in everything from LED signs to confetti. (Also, he refers to himself in the third person and uses the phrase “for the record” a lot. It’s great!)

You’d think that Slimane would be in clover right now, since Vaccarello’s YSL has gotten a lukewarm critical reception, but it seems he still has scores to settle. In a possibly related story, Agence France-Presse is reporting that the designer is suing YSL parent company Kering again, this time for $11 million, claiming that he was owed a minority stake in the brand due to the terms of his contract.

We contacted a rep for Kering, which had no comment on any of the above. We’ve reached out to a rep for Slimane for further comment, and will update this when we hear back. In the meantime, see if you can follow his intricate tweet-skein below.
