The ironic ugly Christmas sweater has become so overdone these past few years, but Whoopi Goldberg’s latest venture may be just what’s needed to breathe life into the trend. Goldberg — legendary comedian and noted Vetements fan — is launching a new line of ugly Christmas sweaters to be sold at Lord & Taylor and Hudson’s Bay on Tuesday, the New York Times reports.

Each of the nine sweater designs will retail for $139, and include a variety of abstract and colorful patterns.

When the Times asked Goldberg about why she chose to enter the fashion design world with this particular clothing item, she answered, “I’ve always liked them. They make me happy. I’ve worn them for many years. I thought about all the things I’d love to see on a sweater.”

Goldberg also added that she’d like to design holiday footwear next, in which case, bring on the Whoopi-branded elf shoes.
