Real Wedding Album: A Snowed-in Sleepover

“We both lived in the West Village, and I’d lived on Jane Street,” says Andrew Dassori, 31, a chief investment officer, of his three-year courtship with Jessica Polidoro, 30. When it came time to choose a wedding venue, the Jane Hotel felt both familiar and a little bit funky. “And we loved the atmosphere — the idea of having that fireplace going,” Polidoro, a hedge-fund managing director, says. Days before the ceremony, word of Winter Storm Jonas began to hit. “I was expecting that people couldn’t get there, so when I walked in and saw everyone, I burst into sobs,” she says. “I was expecting four people to show up.” Instead, their 200 guests enjoyed a tarot-card reader, Ouija boards, and a night of dancing under a disco ball. Almost three feet of snow made it difficult to leave, so even locals camped out in the hotel. “We were sharing bathrooms,” Polidoro recalls. “It was a total sleepover party.”

“The flower girls arrived in snowsuits, so they were already wiped when they got there,” Polidoro says.
