Proenza Schouler’s Kitten Heels Are on a Different Wavelength

Finer Things is a photo series with a playful approach to elusive, glamorous fashion items we’re fixated on right now.

Some designers make women feel powerful through sexuality; some make women feel powerful through minimalist reserve. Proenza Schouler’s definition of power is more complex: chic and practical, but with a dash of fun. Designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez almost never send their models teetering on the runways in five inch heels, instead favoring combat boots or modern remixes on the kitten heel.

The newest iteration of that ethos includes this wavy geometric shape from the label’s spring 2018 collection. The topline artfully frames the foot, while the barely-there 1.5 inch heel offers a sensible option for the woman who has no time to stumble.
