After giving birth to her son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor in May, Meghan Markle has only been seen at a couple of events, with Prince Harry at her side. In what appears to be her first solo public outing since the start of her maternity leave, Markle attended the 2019 Wimbledon Championships to cheer on her good friend Serena Williams.

For the event, the Duchess opted for a breezy casual look consisting of a pinstriped linen “Brea” blazer by L’Agence, a black scoop neck shirt from Lavender Hill Clothing, and skinny blue jeans, Page Six reports. She accessorized with gold earrings from Pippa Small and a tiny diamond “A” pendant necklace, paying homage to her son. Markle also wore a Panama-style hat from Madewell, a favorite of hers that she’s worn to prior events.

Markle was on hand to watch Williams compete against Kaja Juvan of Slovenia in her second round match. Markle and Williams have been friends since 2010, after hitting it off at the Super Bowl. Though Williams attended Markle’s wedding to Prince Harry in 2018, Markle couldn’t go to Williams’s 2017 wedding to Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian due to filming commitments for her TV show, Suits. However, both women have spoken about their friendship in various interviews.

At Wimbledon, Markle was joined by her other longtime friends, Lindsay Roth and Genevieve Hillis, with whom she attended Northwestern University. According to People, the presence of Roth and Hills added fuel to speculation that they might become godparents to Archie, whose christening is set for this weekend.
