Statement Earrings That Look Antique

In fashion, it is a truth universally acknowledged that everything old becomes new again if you wait long enough — even low-rise jeans. What if you don’t want to wait at all, though? In these fast-paced times, designers have begun to manufacture instant nostalgia in the form of collections that reference many eras at once. At Gucci, designer Alessandro Michele has single-handed brought back your grandmother’s entire closet over the last four years, while younger designers like Emily Adams Bode pull from antique fairs and attics all over the world.

And at Oscar de la Renta, Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia created a spring collection that was inspired by, variously, Morocco and India. Their dangling earrings (above) look simultaneously old and new; like the best of these faux-vintage pieces, you can’t quite place them. Except on your body.
