This has been the year of the unexpected celebrity couple. Zooey Deschanel and a Property Brother. Olivia Munn and John Mulaney (and their new baby). And, of course, Kim Kardashian West and her Staten Island sweetheart, Pete Davidson.
Well, there are still a few weeks of 2021 left, and with them another possible unexpected pairing on the horizon. The Daily Mail spotted Jacob Elordi and Olivia Jade grabbing coffee in Los Angeles on Sunday. The pair strolled around Silver Lake in sweats and slippers, each of them clutching bottles of sparkling water, giving us yet another occasion to wonder if Elordi is actually seven feet tall.
What does it mean? For what it’s worth, Elordi and Jade are both recently single. Back in November, Elordi and Kaia Gerber reportedly broke up, ending one of the most aesthetically attractive partnerships there ever was. Before that, he was dating Zendaya, another incredibly beautiful, astoundingly tall partnership. Meanwhile, Jade and ex-boyfriend Jackson Guthy broke up in August. Also this year: Jade tried reviving her image on Dancing With the Stars, on which she memorably claimed she was “best known for influencing,” as opposed to, say, her involvement in the 2019 college-admissions scandal.
Anyway, time will tell whether this pairing will yield a true unexpected couple. For now, it’s just another coffee date we didn’t see coming.
