Throughout the week, buyers from Bergdorf Goodman, Bird, Intermix, and Jeffrey New York will tell us which runway looks they plan to snatch up for fall. Sari Sloane, VP of fashion merchandising at Intermix, loves the youthful — yet polished — looks at Derek Lam, Doo.Ri, Behnaz Sarafpour, and more.
Thakoon’s collection was full of beautiful and wearable cocoon coats and dresses. The pieces had a rich color palette with highlights of deep blues. Dresses with feminine rose details were mixed with exposed zippers for a touch of urban style. The show had sophistication combined with the ease of modern dressing. My favorite look was a blue cocoon coat with black tights.

Derek Lam’s was my favorite collection of the week so far. It was sexy, playful, and feminine with an edge. The unexpected combination of tailoring and seaming details on traditional fabrications added a softness and sexiness. Flared skirts, corseted tops, and leather and suede riding pants were the highlights. He also showed great accessories: waist belts and motorcycle booties. A dress with a corseted top and zippered skirt was one of my favorites.

Her collection was clean, elegant, and youthful at the same time. The pieces had a luxurious feel with touches of medieval inspiration. My favorite look in this collection was the black, long-sleeved zip-up dress.

Doo.Ri was all about draping and jersey. The collection had perfect sexy dresses in bordeaux, emerald, and navy. The pieces truly epitomized modern eveningwear. Crystal harnesses brought these beautifully draped dresses to life.
