Sienna and Savannah Miller celebrated the launch of their collection, Twenty8Twelve, at Bergdorf Goodman last night with a cocktail party. We got a few minutes to chat with them.

What was the inspiration for the collection?
Sienna: Well, it’s based quite a lot on Dickensian London and refers heavily to the Victorian era with influences like the corset and lots of velvet — lots of structure, too. But there’s the rock element, which makes it feel more modern. Patti Smith’s style was a huge influence.
Savannah: One of the major things we borrowed from those eras is way things were made. We love the way things then were hand-sewn and tied. These days things are turned out so quickly, and we wanted to make sure that attention to detail was maintained.

How is it working together?
Sienna: It’s fabulous! We loved the idea of doing something together because it was really hard to see each other as much as we wanted with the kind of work I was doing.

Lots of celebrities have started designing lines. Do you have thoughts on lines by people like the Olsens or Kate Moss?
Sienna: Well, I think it’s fantastic. There are so many people out there, like Kate especially, who have such amazing influence on style and it’s great to have them designing things that they would really want to wear.

Any plans for a runway show for Twenty8Twelve in the future seasons?
Sienna: I would LOVE to do a runway show. I absolutely love the theatrics of runway.
Savannah: Yes, definitely. I would say maybe autumn/winter of ’08 because that would give us some time.

Where would you show?
Sienna: Oh, I think it would just have to be London. It’s only fair!
