We were surprised when we spotted Minka Kelly — who plays Friday Night Lights’ resident Jesus freak, Lyla — sitting front row at the Doo.Ri show yesterday for two reasons. One, we’ve been going to the CFDA darling’s shows for several seasons now and seen the number of celebs in attendance diminish; and two, Kelly was raised in New Mexico (as were we), and we find it hard to believe that she was instilled with any sort of fashion sense growing up there. But savvy she is, and not in the “I go to every Max Azria and Badgley Mischka show looking for gowns to wear on the red carpet” kind of way. Kelly told us she’s found a risk-taker of a stylist, and seems and eager to wear challenging clothes and support young designers. “I like to find the new stuff,” she told us, looking far less torn up about John Mayer than when the Fugs spotted her a few days ago. “I hit Hervé Léger, and I hit Peter Som today, and I think that’s it for me. This is my last show.” She told us she wants every single piece in Doo.Ri’s collection. We can only hope to watch her asshat of an ex drool as she saunters down a carpet in a turban, fuzzy kelly-green sweater, and towering chunky heels, putting all those other bland, imagination-strapped starlets to shame. —Jada Yuan
