Karl Lagerfeld’s muse for his new line of handbags is (drumroll, please) Karl Lagerfeld! Kind of like his fall ‘08 collection, hm? [British Vogue]

• Scott Schuman, the Sartorialist, has been axed from Gap ads. Maybe they didn’t need him since they have hordes of other celebrities, like Liv Tyler, posing in them. [Fashionista]

• Lauren Bush’s boyfriend, David Lauren, wasn’t invited to Jenna Bush’s wedding on Saturday because the family disapproves of him. They thinks he’s too old for Lauren and worry she might have to convert to Judaism for him. God forbid the tribe expand. [NYDN]

• Beyoncé and Jay-Z hit up Pop Burger after the Met gala, proving people don’t really eat dinner at that thing. The restaurant was closed but obviously they’re not going to tell Beyoncé and Jay-Z they can’t have burgers, so they bagged some up to go. [NYP]

Helena Christensen on going to a luncheon the day after the Met ball: “It’s the worst when you show up and see the other parents when you smell of alcohol.” That’s why we have shampoo and toothpaste, toots. [WWD]

• Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci said half the designers showing at the Hyeres Festival in southern France could have easily shown at Paris Fashion Week. He plans to hook his favorites up with financial backers, since, like most things in life, $15,000 changes everything. [WWD]

• New York Giants defensive end Michael Strahan helped Tiffany’s design the team’s Superbowl ring. He told them, “I want a 10-table ring. When I walk into a restaurant, I want you to be able to see it from 10 tables away.” Funny, that’s our accessories motto, too. [WWD]

• So this one time, Kate Moss was trying to save her favorite pub, the George Inn, by posing in a T-shirt that said, “Save the George” and then guess what she did when paparazzi hit her hairdresser’s car? She started running around the pub almost naked screaming “Save the George!” Duh. [British Vogue]

Giorgio Armani supposedly pays the most taxes in all of Italy ($29 million on $68 million income), but he couldn’t care less. [NYDN]

• The average reader of More magazine is 300 percent more likely to have had plastic surgery than other 40-year-olds. [WWD]

• H&M’s new billboard on Houston Street is a painting of Daria Werbowy. Yeah, RiRi was getting old. [Racked]
