Pete Wentz Launches Chicago Fashion Week; Steven Alan Hits Urban

• Pete Wentz is loaning his famous self to help launch Fashion Focus in Chicago, its fourth annual Fashion Week. He’ll show his collection on October 1 at the first runway show, Gen Art’s Fresh Faces in Fashion. [WWD]

• The British Fashion Council awarded runway sponsorship to Louise Goldin, Danielle Scutt, Meadham Kirchhoff, House of Holland, and Peter Pilotto for September Fashion Week. That means they’re officially buzzy, so look out for their shows. [British Vogue]

• Danko Steiner is Vogue’s new design director. He’s being promoted from art director since its current design director, Charles Churchward, resigned to pursue personal projects. Vogue is looking for Steiner’s replacement. [WWD]

• H&M’s profits are up! Sales were rough in the spring because of bad weather, but now the weather’s better and cash has resumed flowing. [WWD]

• Pieces from Steven Alan’s diffusion line for Urban Outfitters are on the sales floor of the Noho store even though they’re not supposed to hit until July 4! [Racked]

Helmut Lang will show his first major art exhibit titled “Helmut Lang — Alles Gleich Schwer (or All Has Equal Weight)” in Hanover Germany in August.
