Dara Torres Makes Runway Debut at Charles Nolan Show

Dara Torres strutted the catwalk at Charles Nolan’s show on Sunday. The 41-year-old Olympic swimmer had never walked the runway, but she’s no stranger to modeling. Torres was a swimsuit model in New York in the nineties and even appeared in Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue in 1994. So yeah, she’s just that much more amazing. Torres wore two looks in Nolan’s show: First was a twenties-inspired pair of swim trunks, natch, with a navy and white silk tank, accessorized with her two-and-a-half-year-old daughter Tessa, on whom Suri Cruise has nothing; the second look was a black wrap dress with a full skirt. The crowd cheered when Torres came out. Nolan told the Daily News, “It was a message about what it means to be 41 today. All those brilliant 20-somethings out there, you’ve got a long way to go.” He’s so right — we haven’t been in Sports Illustrated or the Olympics or walked in Fashion Week. We’ve done NOTHING. We blame the free booze we always run into.
