Cutting-edge Brits Take a Break From Designing Clothes

New British Designer of the Year Christopher Kane reveals his latest design today: a limited-edition Roberts Revival Radio (at right) in a fetching Kane print. “Design collaborations like this are something that everyone has to do,” Kane concedes. Indeed they are! To wit: Giles Deacon has teamed with Smythson to design a range of limited-edition stationery featuring his pen and ink sketches. Of course, both the radio and the stationery come just in time for the holiday shopping season (they can still actually spend money across the pond); this fact isn’t lost on Gareth Pugh. The future-forward Brit has designed a Christmas tree made out of 60 white neon tubes for Topshop’s new store in Westfield London. It’s not for sale, but if you’ve got limitless cash, we’re sure you can find a way to buy (or steal) the “tree” for yourself — if it doesn’t end up in the Tate first.
