When Michelle Obama stepped out in Isabel Toledo yesterday, Barneys VP of public relations called creative director Simon Doonan from the Inauguration. “Get the Isabel Toledo in the windows,” he told Doonan. Barneys is the exclusive retailer of Toledo’s collection in Manhattan. Toledo and her husband are rushing to get them samples. “I’m sort of annoyed that Michelle Obama has spring merchandise before us,” Doonan said.
