Online designer-shopping site Ravinstyle is closing at the end of the month, according to a press release sent out by founder Jill Licata today. The site was founded in 2000 offering five local designers, and has since expanded to include around 75 labels. Licata attributes the shuttering to her desire to spend more time with her teenage children, as well as the tough retail climate: “The onset of my children’s teenage years has come at the same time as the new economy that defines our business. I know firsthand the effort that it would take to continue the successful balance between the needs of my family and the needs of my business. Therefore, I have decided that my love, energy and time should be dedicated solely towards Rachel and Vincent.” The recession claims another one. Pour one out, please.
