Last season, Gareth Pugh made his menswear debut with one of the best shows of the season. But this season he won’t stage a separate spring 2010 show for menswear at Paris Men’s Fashion Week, which runs from June 25 through June 28. His spokeswoman said the fall 2009 show was “a device to launch menswear” and Pugh’s spring 2010 men’s line will be shown alongside his women’s line in October. Still, we’re disappointed. Pugh’s zombie-esque male models in their nail-encrusted, sea-urchin–like shirts and tight shredded pants deserve their own spotlight. With Yohji Yamamoto’s show off the schedule, Paris Men’s Week is now bereft of two amazing shows. Who will drop next?
