With her wispy dirty-blonde hair and wide-set eyes, newcomer Alisa Matviychuk represented Ukraine in the Elite Model Look contest last year. The 16-year-old didn’t win, but she did get scooped up by Marilyn Agency. When the fall 2009 collections hit just months later, Alisa made her runway debut at Nina Ricci. Casting directors must have noticed her doll-like beauty and runway-perfect body, as she became one of the breakout stars during the resort-collection season, walking for Calvin Klein, Oscar de la Renta, Miu Miu, and Prada. If that’s any indication of the show list this one’s going to have this Fashion Week, you can bet she’ll pop up at some major names.
