Katie Lee, whose supposed affair with sexy straight New York designer Yigal Azrouël just as supposedly contributed to her split from Billy Joel, was nowhere to be seen at Azrouël’s show in the tents this morning. But Yigal, who wasn’t taking personal questions backstage afterward, has other muses. “I have somebody that I work with that I love who is always my inspiration. Her name is Kafi. But somebody that I love is always Kate Moss,” he explained to the woe of every female fashion editor who gets hot and bothered every time he takes a bow at the end of a runway. Yigal wasn’t sure if Kate’s ever worn his pieces, but he loves “just kind of how she can wear anything, like a short with a jacket over, the short little dresses — she kind of has that rough look.”
Yigal wasn’t able to attend Fashion’s Night Out last night, because he was doing fittings, but he thought the initiative was a success. “I have to say, it was incredible. The store was so busy,” he said. Did people shop a lot? “Yeah, it was actually the best day of the year.” He declined to provide a sales figure.
