VEDA Delivers an Array of Leather to the Lower East Side

Upon graduating from NYU just four short years ago, Lyndsey D. Butler knew she wanted to be a designer. By the spring of 2008, the Texas native launched her clothing line VEDA, which focuses on leather and all of its design possibilities. Her new boutique in the Lower East Side, with its whitewashed walls and neon Plexiglas accents, is the perfect venue to display her dark, leather-based line. The racks of jackets, dresses, sweaters, and skirts are perfect for downtown girls, creating a full uniform with tailored bombers and sexy, deconstructed pieces. The Goth mood is finished off with a stark, black, tombstone-shaped cash register — who has time for subtleties, anyhow? We shopped the narrow Ludlow store and picked out some standout pieces.
