Lady Gaga Appears in the December Issue of Vogue

May all those naysayers who believe Anna Wintour is out of touch and not hip or “with it” see her December 2009 issue of Vogue, for our Lady Gaga hath landed herself an editorial! Annie Leibovitz shot the pop monster for a spread inspired by Hansel and Gretel. She’s a “Marc Jacobs–clad witch,” from what we can decipher of the minuscule text in the early scans floating around the Internet. The spread is actually pretty genius: It delivers the thrill of seeing Gaga beat a poor young lad over the head with oversized kitchen utensils.

And then the counter-thrill of seeing him stuff her in a fiery oven. It’s a nice change of pace from all the bondage and vampire stuff Gaga’s been into lately. And a nice change of pace for the magazine, which could use an obsession other than Karlie Kloss, tennis players, and socialites.
