Yesterday’s Badgley Mischka show may have been the first that New York Magazine cover girl Christina Hendricks has ever watched, but she did spend a season on the runway herself, once in New York and once in London. Backstage she described her first New York Fashion Week experience as nerve-racking: “I was just starting, and it was my first season in shows. I remember Tyra [Banks] and Cybill [Shepherd] saying ‘You’re going to be great! You’re going to be fine!’ and being very, very kind and sweet to me. I was a nervous wreck. It kind of went too fast for me to even remember.” Hendricks was hunting for red-carpet attire with her mother, the equally flame-haired Jackie Stept, who told us that “I think every girl looks for a dress that makes you go, ‘[Gasp,] wow!’ You know? And then, ‘Can I wear a bra with that?’”
