Hermès’s Horse-Hoof-Inspired Jewelry to Start at $23,675

Last week Hermès unveiled a high-end, high-tech saddle that costs $9,100. Today, WWD reveals that for the price of about two and a half of those you can buy one pair of clip-on rose gold and black jade earrings, which cost $23,675. They’re part of a fourteen-piece jewelry collection Hermès prefers to call “haute bijouterie,” which Pierre Hardy designed. Pieces are inspired by horse hooves. “Hermès is not a very precious universe,” Hardy explained of his influences. But in fact it is, as prices for this line top out at $880,000 for the diamond necklace. All pieces come in a custom-made alligator box, mat made of real zebra skin every eccentric person should own for her vanity not included.
