good things come in twins

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Design Elizabeth & James Jewelry All by Themselves Now

The Olsens launched jewelry under their Elizabeth & James label only a few seasons ago with the help of famed jewelry designer Robert Lee Morris. They even called it “Robert Lee Morris for Elizabeth & James,” giving credit where it was due since they were new to jewelry, and still relatively new to design. But for fall 2010 the twins will drop Robert Lee Morris’s name because, though he will still produce the stuff, they designed the baubles all by themselves. Now that they’re in the CFDA, they don’t need an expert overseeing their vision. If they want to add white gold and diamonds and make pieces that sell for up to thousands of dollars, as they did for fall, they can do that without the help of an expert who, oh, only Donna Karan and Calvin Klein have turned to for jewelery in the past. Maybe as twins they learn twice as fast as one young designer.
