Tanning Linked to Addictive Behavior, Again; Dree Hemingway Named Face of Ferragamo Fragrance

SKIN
• A new study links tanning with addictive behavior, since people continue to tan even though they know it’s bad for them. Take one chick, who says she went tanning almost every day during the year leading up to her wedding. She promised to stop after the big day, but then continued to tan anyway. [ABC News]

FRAGRANCE
Salvatore Ferragamo’s new women’s fragrance is named Attimo. Craig McDean shot Dree Hemingway for the campaign. [WWD]

NAILS
• Soak-off nail gels, which is like a nail polish that has to be applied and removed by pros, can last longer than a month and are rising in popularity. Creative Nail Design’s new soak-off gel is called Shellac and will debut in 2,000 salons nationwide on May 1. The polish dries immediately, however a manicure will probably cost you double. [NYT]

MAKEUP
• The Cosmetic Executive Women announced the winners of its annual beauty awards yesterday. Dolce & Gabbana won the category for best new prestige brand. Lola by Marc Jacobs won best new prestige fragrance. [Elle UK]

HAIR
• Strip Ministry of Waxing, a Brazilian waxing and eyebrow-sculpting salon based in Singapore, will open its first location in the United States in Soho. The company signed a ten-year lease for the space at 56 Spring Street, near Mulberry Street. [Crains]
