This morning we visited Interview magazine’s offices to test out its new iPad-ready issue before it hits stands. Consisting of 334 screens of images and text, which you can leaf through with the flick of a finger much like a paper magazine, the issue includes a spread of Ke$ha covered in dirt and, of course, glitter. But we were most excited to see the already storied Jersey Shore spread, shot by Terry Richardson. And it didn’t disappoint!
The Shore editorial opens with an image of our four favorite self-proclaimed guidos holding a giant sub sandwich while a bikini-clad Bar Refaeli takes a bite off the end. (All images on the iPad look great, by the way.) Clearly they’ve been hitting the gym, and their tans are spectacular, but what about laundry? The Situation, Vinny, Ronnie, and DJ Paulie D don’t seem to have a clean shirt between them, which leads us to wonder if either the fame has taken its toll on their GTL routine or they now deem themselves too good for shirts both in and outside the house.
By tapping an icon at the bottom of their iPad screen, readers can post any article to their Twitter or Facebook accounts. And in two months, Interview’s team hopes to enable a chat feature, which would allow readers to discuss “the Situation“‘s abs with other subscribers. The iPad version of the magazine also includes exclusive behind-the-scenes video of the photo shoot, complete with hair-sculpting, weight-lifting, fist-pumping, and, yes, spray-tanning.
We are no tech geeks, and even after all that, neat as it was, we still don’t feel compelled to save up for iPads of our own.
