William Norwich Leaves Vogue for Town & Country

William Norwich is leaving his job as contributing editor of Vogue, which he’s held since 2004, for a loftier position at Town & Country. Sources say new editor-in-chief Stephen Drucker wants to turn the magazine into something like Tatler. Drucker told WWD he wants to make Norwich part of his “inner circle” and that he “won’t just be a columnist or contributor. He’ll help me construct a new, more exciting Town & Country.”

Norwich says Anna Wintour is “very excited” for him. At Vogue, Norwich had his own column, “Norwich Notes,” in which he frolicked around the globe writing about the time he ate tomato salads with Vera Wang or the time saw a socialite being pretty. He also writes sporadically for Vogue.com, covering things like Ginnifer Goodwin getting her picture drawn. And so he leaves behind a highly desirable position! Somewhere, Derek Blasberg is busy updating his résumé.
