Have Staffing Changes at W Made Way for Terry Richardson to Resume Working for the Magazine?

At the height of the recent spate of sexual-harassment allegations against Terry Richardson, sources at W told Jezebel the photographer hadn’t worked for the magazine in a while, one supposing his last shoot for them was for the November 1996 issue. But he’s back shooting for the magazine’s July issue with a seventeen-photo spread. Dennis Freeman, W’s art director until new editor Stefano Tonchi came aboard a few months ago, had reportedly banned Richardson from his pages after taking offense to a photo the photographer took of a model with her head in the oven.

In other W news, Tonchi told WWD he was done making staff changes. Alex White looks to be staying on as fashion director and is reportedly shooting stories for the September issue, when Tonchi’s full redesign will debut. Yesterday, Tonchi replaced market director Treena Lombardo and accessories and jewelry director Brooke Magnaghi with Karla Martinez, who joins W from Interview. Tonchi explained, “I wanted to centralize the way we are covering the fashion market.”
