Eva Mendes can hose herself down with baby oil and wiggle around on the ground in Calvin Klein jeans all she wants, but the house won’t photograph her for their upcoming advertisements. Confirming rumors, Lara Stone is Calvin Klein’s face for fall across its three brands, Calvin Klein Collection, ck Calvin Klein, and Calvin Klein Jeans. Calvin Klein is the only apparel brand Lara will (as its exclusive fall 2010 face) lend her hotness to in ads and runway shows for the season. This is the first time in years the label has chosen one face for all three brands.

The booking is huge for both Lara and Calvin. Fashion people claim to be over 15-year-old waifs and ready for a new era of curvy women, but continue to cast stick-thin youngsters for plenty of editorials, advertisements, and fashion shows. Calvin Klein, which helped make a supermodel out of its past faces, like Kate Moss, Christy Turlington, and Natalia Vodianova, continues the all-too-important effort to cast women instead of girls. Lara is 27 and, though slim, not a size zero. Calvin Klein creative director Francisco Costa told WWD:
“I conceived my fall 2010 collection with a self-aware and assured woman in mind,” he said. “For me, Lara was the perfect choice for the new campaign because she is a woman who epitomizes confidence and sensuality.”
