Breaking! Breaking! We just published eight new resort collections in our fashion-show galleries. Balenciaga is all about the color blocking, zany prints, and sixties silhouettes (not to mention white-hot neon eye shadow). Rebecca Minkoff’s slinky party gear melds sweatshirtlike materials with embellished pockets and funky cutout detailing. Naeem Khan, meanwhile, upped the sparkle ante: His sequined trousers and mosaic cruisewear actually looks like it could be worn on a cruise ship (or one of those booze cruises that floats around the Hudson, whatever). The 49 looks from Reem Acra smack of everything from Studio 54 licentiousness (holy metallics!) to Grecian goddesses to the kinds of dresses that’d drive Teen Vogue–worshipping promgoers insane with desire. Rounding out the roundup are ladylike frocks from Collette Dinnigan, red-carpet ballgowns from J. Mendel, ties and sheaths from Ports 1961, and bunchy-at-the-crotch pants from Nicole Miller.
