Jean Paul Gaultier presented yet another delightful couture show in Paris today, with models who wore elaborate headpieces and sauntered onto the runway smoking cigarettes from long, sexy holders. As always, Gaultier had plenty of fun with the clothes, too, embroidering Eiffel Towers into the backs of fishnet panty hose. One suit incorporated both a cone bra and patch of black mink on the back. And appropriately, with mermaids slowly rising in the world of fashion, Gaultier also showed “couture scuba” looks made from neoprene leather. He further explored this under-the-sea theme with awesome gold sequined bat-wing “manta ray” gowns — some of the most spectacular bat wings the runways have seen recently. That’s exactly what the ocean is missing: gold sequin manta rays. Also, Dita Von Teese came onto the runway in the middle of the show and did a little striptease. See that and more in our video of the show.
