The labor union that represents Lincoln Center stagehands had threatened to picket Fashion Week if IMG and Lincoln Center couldn’t come to an agreement over who would be hired to set up Fashion Week venues. But they’ve sorted it out, and IMG and Local One just issued this joint statement:
IMG Fashion and Local One IATSE have reached an agreement regarding Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center. The agreement, which runs through the February 2013 event, will ensure IMG Fashion’s ability to present this premier event using world class talent from the New York theatrical industry. We are pleased with the outcome and will continue to coordinate efforts as the event gets underway in September.
Now the only picket lines Fashion Week attendees will have to cross will probably just be PETA’s or those of some other anti-fur people. So they must be happy with this agreement — no competition for their fake-blood outfits and tofu throwing, or whatever else they have planned this year.
