The New York Times’ Jon Caramanica sifted through secondhand tees at Scout Vintage T-Shirts in Soho, which prompted some deep questions about the garments’ former lives: “How does Eddie feel about the fact that someone let go of a hand-lettered shirt proclaiming ‘I Love Eddie’ ($38)? Was it too painful to hold on to the impressive shirt, with stars on the shoulders and sleeves, from Dick Lugar’s 1974 Senate bid ($28), which he lost?” His verdict: The shirts would “make great chamois cloths,” but “there are cheaper ways of looking cheap.” [NYT]
