Alan Cumming schedules his Fashion Week parties and shows in the same manner as he dresses for them: at the last minute. We caught up with him backstage before the Christian Siriano show this afternoon and complimented his look: a neutral-gray Nicole Farhi suit over a T. Raines–designed T-shirt painted with a Pop Art hot dog. On his feet he wore orange sneakers, and on his face, O-shaped sunglasses for style and not sight. “How long did it take to pull your outfit together?” we asked. “This morning I was in my house in the country running through the forest and turning off water taps,” he admitted. “I had wellies on and I hadn’t shaved or showered. I went into my closet for five seconds to plan what I was going to wear. This is like dressing in the dark.”
