behind the scenes

Backstage Video: Putting Clay in Agyness Deyn and Anja Rubik’s Hair at Alexander Wang

The inspiration for Alexander Wang’s spring 2011 show, which walked on Pier 54 yesterday, was “White-Out” — and the collection was quite white, right down to the hair. The plaster-looking goop was actually clay, made specially for the show by Redken stylists, who combed it through the models’ hair before tying it in a knot. Top model Anja Rubik, who has had all kinds of crazy things done to her hair, wasn’t worried about whether or not it would come out, but was worried that no one would pick her up in a cab after the show. Hear more from her and Agyness Deyn in the video after the jump.
