Fashion Week Style Diaries: Kirna Zabête, Day One

Sarah Easley and Beth Buccini, co-owners of Kirna Zabête, have been best friends for 21 years. They roomed together at UVA and founded their Soho boutique, a beacon for the fashionable avant-garde, more than eleven years ago. So naturally, the former high-end wholesaler (Easley) and ex-fashion editor (Buccini) pull out all the sartorial stops during Fashion Week, attending loads of cutting-edge shows (Jason Wu, Frank Tell, Prabal Gurung, Alexander Wang, Thakoon, etc.) and spending just as much time planning out their outfits. To that end, we’ve asked them to document what they’re wearing each day this Fashion Week — starting now! Like what you see? Many of their clothes are from the fall 2010 looks and can be purchased at Kirna Zabête.

On Easley: Thakoon dress, Chrissie Morris shoes, a Reece Hudson bag, and Prova hammered star earrings.
About the look: “This is actually a new fall Thakoon dress, but of the buy-now, wear-now variety. I love the ease of the dress with the built-in belt and the madcap print with dashes of yellow. Even though these sky-high heels are a shock to my summer-flip flop foot, they do have a cushion in the platform. Plus — fun trick — the ankle cuffs turn into cuff bracelets should the mood strike … “

On Buccini: Alaïa dress, Celine suede wedges, Celine box bag, Aurelie Biderman cuff, Cartier watch, and KBL sunglasses.
About the look: “This is my (hopefully) modern ladies-who-lunch look. When in doubt, go Alaïa. As for the Celine shoes: You always need a pop of color!”
