Those little teaser videos H&M just released to hype its next designer collaboration are not of Bottega Veneta’s Tomas Maier, but Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz, WWD reports. Sources tell the paper a collaboration with the ridiculously — and deservedly — fawned-over house will be announced very soon, presumably September 9, which is the date that flashes on the screen at the end of the videos.
While the camera never lingers on the faces long enough for recognition in the clips, the voice-over of designer musings, while electronically altered, are unmistakable Elbaz-isms. “Design is very important because it actually brings dream to our life,” says one.
Obviously a Lanvin collaboration would be huge for H&M. Everyone loves Lanvin while almost no one can afford it. This would be a fun one to line up to shop for — just think of all the Upper East Side ladies in disguises standing next to you.
