Princess Diana’s Designer Dies; Models Forced to Model in Rain at Milan Fashion Week

• In response to Tim Gunn’s comment about this season’s “crack-smoking” Project Runway judges, Nina Garcia noted that Tim may feel that way because of his close workroom relationships with the contestants, which she doesn’t have. “We are judging them for their work,” she said. “I don’t know if John Galliano had a nervous breakdown [before a show] or didn’t. • L.A.-based jewelry designer Chris Aire, who owns jewelry and watch company Solid 21, is suing seventeen watch brands, including Rolex, Louis Vuitton, and Omega, for infringing on their trademark for Red Gold, which Solid 21 registered in 2003. Aire accused defendants of using his trademark to manufacture and market Red Gold jewelry, which refers to gold with a reddish hue. [WWD]
