It’s a Good Thing the Gap Took That Ugly Trial Logo Off Its Site

In a meeting today with shareholders the Gap outlined its three- to five-year business plan. The company sees big growth opportunities in the Internet, that same place they embarrassingly and unwisely debuted a dramatic new logo the world thought was terrible. Anyway, they plan to double online sales to $2 billion by 2015. With the old logo reinstated, the graphics shouldn’t distract too much from shopping. But they still have to figure out how to get people to go to the site without using gawking at the bad logo as a ploy. Selling it ironically on a T-shirt might be a brilliant business move. [WWD]
