Vera Wang’s much-hyped collaboration with David’s Bridal, Vera Wang White, won’t be shown until early 2011, but the designer already has plans for its expansion. “We’re not just doing bridal, we’re going to do bridesmaids, eventually shoes, and jewelry accessories,” she told us last night at the Angel Ball benefit for cancer research. The line’s price points range from $600 to $1,200, while her regular bridal collection is $3,900 to $20,000. “For the average person, $6,000 is lot of money [to spend on a dress] given the price of the average wedding,” she very correctly pointed out. So who had the idea to do the collaboration, her or David’s Bridal? “They’ve been approaching us for years,” she said.
